The Sanctuary Choir sings each Sunday at the 11:00 am worship service and at special services throughout the year (Holy Week, Christmas Eve, etc).

Rehearsal is each Sunday 9:30-10:00 AM.  Rehearsals include vocal technique and musical development.  The choir is open to all who have a desire to lead in worship through song.  You do not need to be able to read music to participate.

Princeton uses The United Methodist Hymnal, The Cokesbury Hymnal and The Faith We Sing Hymnal for both congregational hymns and choral anthems.  Music for worship covers a variety of styles including traditional hymns, spirituals, gospel, contemporary and praise and worship music.  Vocal and instrumental soloists of all ages frequently provide musical offerings during Sunday worship and special services.  Solo piano selections are featured in every Sunday service as part of our Gathering Music, Prelude and Offertory.

Each year the choir presents a Christmas cantata which may focus on varied themes or musical styles. Rehearsals for this program begin in early fall and participation is open to all church members and regular attendees.

Above all sing spiritually.  Have an eye to God in every word you sing.  Aim at pleasing him more than yourself, or any other creature.  In order to do this attend strictly to the sense of what you sing, and see that your heart is not carried away with the sound, but offered to God continually; so shall your singing be such as the Lord will approve her, and reward you when he cometh in the clouds of heaven.

From John Wesley’s Select Hymns, 1761
