The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it;
the world and those who live in it.

Psalm 24:1
God has entrusted his earth to humanity’s care. Princeton will be hosting a Creation Care Workshop at UGArdens. We will explore the biblical basis for caring for God’s creation, sharing ideas of how we are doing this and ways we can do more. We will also discuss plans for a Church  Community garden.

Workshop
Athens-Elberton District Churches

Saturday, April 1
(10:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
UGA Gardens
2500 South Milledge AVE
Athens, GA 30606

All Athens-Elberton UMC churches are invited to attend the Creation Care workshop. There is no cost for the workshop. It will be led by Dr. David Knauft and have two components. We will begin indoors exploring the biblical basis for caring for God’s creation, and provide an opportunity for participants to share with others the things they are already doing (and plan to do) to be Christian stewards of God’s gift of creation.

The outdoor part will be a tour of the UGArden facility. After the tour, we will discuss whether participants of this workshop would be interested in having a Church Community Garden at UGArden. UGArden personnel will work with us to schedule times for our people to plant, weed and harvest what we grow. They will also provide training if needed and also help to distribute food to those in need.

For additional information or to let us know the representatives your church will be sending to the workshop click here

Dr. Knauft is a member of Princeton UMC and a faculty member in the Horticulture Department of UGA. He has not only taught university courses in plant genetics, research methods, crop production, and ethics, he has also taught Bible studies for the past 20 years.
