Baptisms

Baptism is a sacrament in the United Methodist Church. Youth and adults who accept Christ as their savior are baptized with water as they are welcomed into God’s family and marked as Christian disciples. As United Methodists we also baptize infants and children based on their parent’s profession of faith.
We believe that baptism is a sacrament because it is both a sign and a means of God's grace. A child is born of God, and baptism is the public recognition of that fact.
Performed in the presence of the congregation, baptism is the sign and seal of a child’s inclusion in Christ’s holy Church. Baptism is the outward acknowledgment of the fact that the church consists of professing believers together with their children.
Infant/Children Baptism:
When parents or sponsors take the baptismal vows on behalf of a child, they, in covenant with God and the congregation, pledge to surround the child with the love of Christ and to do everything possible to see that the child is brought up in the Christian faith so that he/she, by the power of God, shall accept for himself/herself the gift of salvation.
If you would like to talk about baptism for yourself or your child, please contact the Pastor.
