Princeton United Methodist
Church presents an annual drive-through Nativity Pageant to
the Athens area community on the second weekend of December,
the performances run from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. |
|
|
|
Out pilgrims will welcome you to
Journey through Christmas, they will provide a taped message
that described each of the five scenes. The recorder
will be collect at the seventh station.

|
The Annunciation
-- Mary is in bed in her sleeping chamber, when an Angel
appears and announces that Mary is blessed among women, and
will become the mother of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

|
|
Journey to Bethlehem
-- Joseph and a very pregnant Mary are traveling with
a donkey on the road to Bethlehem, and stopping at
a nighttime campfire with other travelers.

|
|
|
The Nativity --
In a stable near Bethlehem, Mary reclines with the newborn
Jesus Christ, with Joseph and a Guardian Angel staying
close by. A star over the stable marks the site of the
birth of Jesus on the first Christmas. Some townspeople
and visitors are camped nearby, and some animals are in
stalls at the stable.

Shepherds hear the news
-- Shepherds in the field at night are camped at a
lean-to, with a campfire and sheep in a fold nearby, when an
Angel appears bringing the good news of the birth of Jesus
Christ, the Son of God.

|
The Journey of the Wise
Men --Three wise men are camped at night while
following the Star on the way to Bethlehem. Nearby a guard
stands duty, while a servant tends a campfire, and camels
rest from the long journey.

|
|
At the seventh and final Tall Torch, our
Farewell Folks collect the tape players that were used to
navigate the journey, give our
guests a scroll from Princeton UMC, and bid them a fond
farewell till next Christmas.
